The second-graders in Mrs. Lopez’s class told Mrs. Dahl that they wanted to send a happy birthday message to jazz musician Marcus Printup when she was teaching them about the famous trumpeter and mentioned his birthday. So they created a video and sent it to him. Little did they know, two weeks later they would get a birthday song of their own sent in return. Mr. Printup made a video thanking the Passow students and playing them a trumpet version of the happy birthday song. He told them to play it on their birthdays and to keep working hard in music class. It was a thrill to see their faces light up at the very special message!
