In the interest of the safety of all our students due to the extremely low temperatures and dangerous wind chill conditions, Franklin Park School District 84 will hold an e-learning day tomorrow, Friday, January 23rd.
These temperatures are quite dangerous, particularly to young children, and it is recommended that they remain in a warm, indoor environment. If it becomes necessary to venture outside, even for a brief period of time, children should be dressed in several layers and wear a hat, gloves, and a scarf that covers their mouth.
To ensure learning continues while keeping everyone safe from the extreme cold, please note the following:
- Instruction: Students in grades 3-8 should log into Google Classroom at 9:00 a.m. in accordance with the schedule they will receive from their teacher today. K-2 students will be sent home with a device and a schedule containing links and instructions from their teacher.
- Support: Teachers will be available during school hours via email or message for any student questions.
- Extracurriculars: All after-school activities, practices, and events scheduled for Friday are canceled.
In-person classes will resume on Monday. For additional resources or updates, please visit the District 84 website.
Thank you and please take every precaution to stay safe and warm.
